There are plenty of worthwhile and rewarding opportunities at SERVE, some of which are listed below. You can volunteer as much or as little time as you want (1 or 2 days a week or every day, half days or full days… It’s up to you!) Uniform and expenses are provided according to the role. If you would like further information or an informal chat please get in touch.
Volunteer drivers are always welcome for our Community Transport Scheme! As a driver you will pick up clients and take them to medical appointments at doctors, hospitals, opticians, dentists and the like. Escorting clients door to door, you will provide a hugely valuable service that will have a direct impact on the health of local residents, who might otherwise not be able to make their appointments.
We are looking for volunteers to join our door to door shopping service for older people who are unable to get out for their groceries. You will have regular service users that you visit who will be close to your home location.
The shopping service is a membership scheme that service users sign up to for a year. Then they will pay you a set amount of money each visit for your mileage expenses.
This is a person centered service where you can build up a relationship with people and really get to know them, full lone worker training will be provided and you will be supported by our Wellbeing Manager Gemma Hager.
We would like you to enter the individuals home to assist by putting their shopping away as part of the service. We look forward to hearing from you!
Our minibus drivers take people on day trips to a wide variety of locations, from the seaside to shopping centres and pub lunches. Lunch, drinks and a uniform are provided. Our day trips combat social isolation, help people make new friends and see new places, and are a lot of fun!
Volunteering at the Ron Manning Day and Activity Centre is a rewarding experience, with opportunities to help supporting clients, preparing meals, and administration.
SERVE are looking for a Volunteer kitchen Assistant to help work with our chef serving delicious hot meals to our Service Users attending the Day Centre and also our Meals and Wheels Service Users in the community.
This is a great opportunity to join a small team in Higham Ferrers and get to know the same groups visiting the centre each week. Full support will be given.
Do you have a sympathetic ear and a caring nature? Could you spend around 2 hours per week visiting isolated elderly and frail adults at home? Please contact us 01933 315555.
Our Home Care service helps people to continue living happily in their own home, providing personal care such as washing and dressing, administering medication and preparing food.
Equally important are the social interactions and professional relationships you will build.
No experience is necessary, as we offer full training. If you are a caring person with a professional outlook, can work independently and manage your own time, we would love to hear from you.
Shifts are available between 7:00am and 10:00pm. Because Home Carers work in other peoples’ homes, you will need a full driving licence and access to a car for work purposes. You will also require an enhanced DBS check.
Please feel free to contact us for an informal chat about the role before applying.
